How to set up the skill

⚠️ Upgrading from version 1.8 or older? The Alice skill only works with cloud data that started syncing from version 1.9. Before setting up the skill, make sure to:

  1. Update the app to version 1.9 or newer
  2. Sign in to your account (or create one — tap the sync button → Account tab)
  3. Do your first cloud sync: tap the sync button → "Upload to cloud" — this sends your schedule to Firebase

Only then proceed with the steps below.

    Say to Alice: "Alice, launch My Shift Schedule skill"
  • 2
    Open ShiftSchedule app → tap the sync button → "Partners" section → copy your 6-character code
  • 3
    Say the code aloud to Alice. After that the skill knows your schedule and answers questions instantly

If you changed the code in the app — say "reset" to Alice, then say the new code.

🔄 Open the app at least once a month. The Alice skill reads your schedule from the cloud, which updates automatically every time you open ShiftSchedule. If you don't open the app for more than 60 days, Alice may give inaccurate answers about current days.

All supported commands

Work days
"Do I work today?" — Work or day off today, including partner status
"Do I work tomorrow?" — Tomorrow's status
"Next day off" — Date and days until the next day off
"Next shift" — Date and days until the next work shift
Statistics
"How many shifts this month?" — Work days remaining until end of current month
"How many shifts this week?" — Work days remaining until end of current week
"Which days off this week?" — Upcoming days off until end of week
Special statuses
"When is vacation?" — Upcoming vacation dates — start, end date and duration
"Sick days this month" — Sick leave periods in the current month with dates
Notes
"Record a note" — Records a note by voice for a chosen day — two-step dialogue: day and content
"Notes for today" — Reminders marked for today in the app
"Notes for the week" — All reminders for the next 7 days
"Notes for the month" — All reminders for the next 30 days

How voice note recording works:

You "Record a note"
Alice "For which day?"
You "Tomorrow" (or "Friday", "June 15")
Alice "What should I record?"
You "Buy groceries and call the doctor"
Alice "Done, note saved" — syncs to the app immediately

After saving, the note appears in ShiftSchedule on the specified day. If your phone is nearby, you'll get a push notification. The note will be visible in the day list the next time you open the app.

Skill management
"Help" — Brief skill instructions
"What can you do?" — Command overview by category; shown as buttons on screen devices, with a link to the full list
"Reset" — Unlink current code and link a new one

The command list is updated with each app update. Check the "What's New" section on the main page.
